Being a carer can be challenging for a number of reasons, but when the person you are caring for smiles at you as you walk through the door or begins to open up to you over a morning cup of tea, you will know you are making someone feel truly valued.
Over the years I have worked as a Senior Care worker for a nursing home- where I gain a lot of experience working with people with dementia and as a Senior Care Worker for a community care company where I assisted clients in basic daily needs, including dressing, washing, prepared a range of meals for clients, performed domestic cleaning tasks, provided mobility support using hoists, safely managed and administered medication, provided support with social activities. I have been trained to work in Complex Care, helping people with Dementia, Parkinson, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease, Stoke, Cancer, Catheter and Stoma Care, Peg Feeding, Palliative Care and also, I have been trained to work with children with complex need and Autism.
I have NVQ Level 3- Lead adult care worker, studying Health and Social Care level 5, I have ‘’Train the Trainer’’ training in moving and handling, Safeguarding Adults Level 3, HSG Medication Awareness Training Course, CSTF Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Training Course.
